Home Away From Home...

“On the 19 August 2024, I was scheduled fo an operation, I was so happy that I was the first patient to go into theatre as that meant I don’t have to wait and wait the entire day.

After the operation I was doing good or so I thought. After 3 hours or so, one minute I was breathing perfectly fine the next I was unable to breath and in so much pain and I couldn’t keep my eyes open and everything was just blury. Within seconds my bed was surrounded by so many nurses and I started sweating profusely, and crying not knowing what is going on.. the nurses were so quick to put me on oxygen and do other stuff and within seconds my body started feeling okay.. within minutes I was rushed back into theatre and after that my recovery journey started, it was not an easy process but Dr. Eagles and nurses made it worthwhile. SUGICAL WARD 3, your guys rock!! Thank you for saving my life on that day. To my doctor; Dr. P. Eagles, Thank you for your care, dedication and kind heart during my difficult recovery journey.. Your caring and kind heart left me in awe, you have been so supportive and helpful towards me during this hard period and I am eternally grateful from the bottom of my heart.. You are one of a kind and you left a mark in my life. 🙏🏾🙌🏾🥺 Thank you for saving my life! The nurses in High care especially Sis Halwendo and Sis Angula ( not sure if it’s Angula or Hangula) who stayed by my bedside throughout the nights monitoring me and answering all my concerns and reassurancing me throughout.

Lastly Surgical Ward 3, became my second home and the nurses were so amazing and extra supportive and caring you guys rock!! I am so grateful to have received the best care from all the nurses there. The kitchen, cleaning, porters, Radiology, Pathcare, Pharmacist, Blood Bank staff you guys were just as amazing and so helpful”
