Every step tells a story

For many children born with clubfoot, that story can be one of pain, limitation, and stigma. But through the Steps2Walk Namibia program, those stories are being rewritten into ones of hope, mobility, and opportunity.

From 15–19 June 2026, Steps2Walk Namibia returns to Windhoek for what promises to be our biggest and most impactful program yet.

A Program That Continues to Grow

What started as a collaboration has grown into a life-changing movement. This year, we are preparing to treat 50 patients, nearly double our usual annual number in the mid-20s. Patients are travelling from across Namibia, each one with a unique story, but all sharing the same hope: the ability to walk freely.
These procedures do more than correct a condition. They restore independence, open doors to education, and give patients the confidence to live without fear of stigma.
Because when a person can walk, everything changes, not just for them, but for their families and communities too.

World-Class Expertise, Local Impact

The 2026 program will bring together an exceptional team of specialists. We are honoured to welcome the President and Founder of Steps2Walk, alongside six international orthopaedic surgeons, who will work hand-in-hand with Namibian healthcare professionals. In addition, delegates from across Namibia and the SADC region will participate in the program, ensuring meaningful skills transfer and long-term capacity building within our healthcare system.
This is not just about one week of surgery; it’s about strengthening the future of orthopaedic care in Namibia.

Expanding Our Reach

To meet the growing need, we have expanded our surgical capacity to three full theatre days, with two operating theatres running each day consecutively at Windhoek Central Hospital and Lady Pohamba Private Hospital.
This increased capacity allows us to reach more patients than ever before, changing more lives faster.

More Than Surgery: Breaking the Stigma

Clubfoot affects approximately 1 in every 1,000 children in Africa, but in Southern Africa, the numbers are even higher, as many as 1 in 500 children.
Without treatment, many of these children face lifelong disability and social exclusion. Through Steps2Walk Namibia, we are not only providing surgical care, but we are actively working to eradicate the stigma surrounding clubfoot, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to walk with confidence and dignity.

How You Can Be Part of This Journey

Behind every successful surgery is a network of support, and this is where you can make a difference.
We invite corporates and partners to “donate a foot” by sponsoring a life-changing corrective procedure. Your contribution directly impacts a patient’s journey, covering essential surgical costs and ensuring that no one is turned away.
Whether you choose to sponsor a surgery, contribute resources, or partner with us as a stakeholder, your involvement becomes part of a much bigger story, one of transformation, hope, and impact.

Join Us in Taking the Next Step

Steps2Walk Namibia 2026 is more than a program; it is a movement of compassion, collaboration, and change.
Together, we are helping more patients every year. Together, we are building a stronger healthcare system. And together, we are giving children the simple, powerful gift of walking.
If you would like to get involved or learn more about sponsorship opportunities, we would love to hear from you.
Because every step forward starts with someone choosing to care.

Let’s walk this journey together.
