Benchmarking & Collaboration: One Vision for Better Healthcare in Namibia

In the pursuit of excellence in healthcare, collaboration and benchmarking between healthcare providers are powerful tools for transformation. At Lady Pohamba Private Hospital (LPPH), we recently had the honour of welcoming esteemed colleagues from Windhoek Central Hospital, under the Ministry of Health and Social Services (MoHSS), for a benchmarking visit that left us inspired and reaffirmed our shared commitment to one unifying goal: quality healthcare for all Namibians.

Their visit was not only a professional engagement, but a meaningful exchange of insights, systems, and experiences. The contact initiated by MoHSS was a significant reminder that regardless of whether we serve in the public or private sector, our ultimate mission is the same: to provide the best possible care to every patient.

The benchmarking initiative highlighted just how vital collaboration is to raise the standard of healthcare across the board. Through creative sharing, system comparisons, and mutual learning, we recognized the power of partnership. It is with great pride that we say: we learned from them as much as we were able to share. This spirit of peer guidance and mutual respect is what will drive quality improvement in our nation’s health system.

We are especially grateful for the kind words shared by our visitors:

“Dear Matron & the LPPH Team,

We are very grateful for the opportunity presented to us, throughout the Lady Pohamba Private Hospital theatre department, we observe quality healthcare service, patient-centred services and professionalism among their staff members. Staff members portrayed dedication commitment and responsibility toward their daily task. We look forward to future collaborations between 2 entities in the name of patient care. We would like to extend our gratitude to the Lady Pohamba Private Hospital management and Windhoek Central Hospital nursing services management for these initiatives.”

Such feedback is not just appreciated, it reflects our team’s commitment to a culture of excellence, and a motivation to continue striving for even higher standards.

At LPPH, we remain open and committed to further collaboration with the Ministry and other healthcare partners across the country. We believe that informed, respectful, and ongoing cooperation between the public and private sectors will be vital to ensuring equitable, efficient, and high-quality patient care in Namibia.

Together, we are stronger. Together, we can do more. Together, we will make healthcare better for every Namibian.
