Lady Pohamba Private Hospital (LPPH), today announced the appointment of Baronice Raschida Hans CA(Nam) as Chief Executive Officer, effective 1 September 2026, alongside the appointment of Dr Marsha Koekemoer as Clinical Oversight Specialist (Acting).
This announcement marks a significant milestone in LPPH’s leadership evolution, bringing together one of Namibia’s most accomplished business leaders and a highly experienced frontline clinician in a deliberately structured leadership partnership designed to guide the hospital into its next phase of growth.
Baronice Hans is widely recognised as a transformational leader of national stature. She served as Managing Director of Bank Windhoek, a Capricorn Group company, from 2016 to 2025, leading Namibia’s second-largest commercial bank with assets exceeding R52 billion. She was the first woman to lead a major Namibian commercial bank and has received multiple accolades, including Best CEO of the Year (International Banking Magazine Awards, 2021) and Bank of the Year recognition from The Banker in 2019, 2021, and 2025. She is ranked among Africa’s 50 Most Reputable CEOs. Baronice holds a CA(Nam) qualification, completed the Duke University Executive Leadership Programme in 2014, and the Advanced Management Programme at Harvard Business School in 2024.
Tim Knowles, Board Chairman of LPPH, commented:
“LPPH’s next chapter requires a leader with the vision to grow our institution, the discipline to steward its resources responsibly, and the character to inspire trust among our clinical teams, patients, and partners. We found all of that in Baronice Hans.”
Baronice Hans added:
“Lady Pohamba Private Hospital is an institution that Namibians trust with their lives, and that is a responsibility I take seriously. My goal is simple: that every patient who walks through LPPH’s doors receives world-class care, and that this institution continues to grow stronger each year.”
Dr Marsha Koekemoer is an Emergency Medicine Specialist with 12 years of clinical and governance experience, including 9 years at LPPH, where she served as Head of the Emergency Centre and Clinical Governance Lead. During her tenure, she chaired the Clinical Committee for seven years, contributed to COHSASA accreditation compliance, and played a key role in guiding emergency services through the hospital’s expansion from 130 to 298 beds. She holds an MMed in Emergency Medicine from the University of Cape Town and is a Fellow of the College of Emergency Medicine (CMSA). She currently serves as Clinical Committee Chairperson and now assumes the role of Clinical Oversight Specialist in an executive capacity.
Dr Koekemoer said:
“This role allows me to translate years of clinical and governance experience into broader strategic impact. I look forward to working alongside Baronice to ensure that our clinical excellence is not only maintained, but continuously strengthened.”
