About the Hospital
Lady Pohamba Private Hospital is pleased to offer and share world-class quality care to patients since 18 January 2016. Exceptional service and compassion to patients and clients is a priority for the multi-disciplinary team. The team hold themselves accountable to high standards that are observable and measurable ensuring great health care service in the country.
The Hospital has a 24-hour:
- 11 Operating Theatres (including 2 Day Theatres and a C-Section Theatre);
- 2 Cathlabs;
- 15 Bed Trauma Unit / Emergency Unit;
- 3 Surgical Wards (which include 82 Beds);
- 20 Bed Day Ward / Gastro-Intestinal Unit;
- 10 Bed Intensive Care Unit;
- 11 Bed High Care Unit;
- 11 Cardiothoracic / Neuro Surgery Intensive Care Unit / High Care Unit;
- 28 Bed Cardiac Ward;
- 60 Bed Medical Ward;
- 20 Bed Paediatric Ward;
- 7 Bed Paediatric Intensive Care Unit / High Care Unit;
- 10 Bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit / High Care Unit;
- 10 Bed Rehabilitation Unit; and a
- 15 Bed Maternity Ward with a team of Midwives, Nusres, Obstetricians and Paediatricians working collaboratively to provide women with memorable childbirth experience.
Emergency Centre
The Emergency Centre is open 24/7 to provide you with medical care in emergency cases. The experienced team of health care providers provides first world care according to international clinical protocols and a triage coding system.
This means that seriously ill or injured patients are treated immediately. Our Emergency Centre is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, and the staff are competent to handle all medical emergencies.
In order to provide optimal service to the community, the hospital has a 24-hour emergency number for all medical and trauma emergencies which is 0833 911.
Parking Area
The Hospital has three parking areas for visitors; the front of the main building, the shaded parking across the road at the south building and the under-roof parking at the north of the building. For your safety; The premises is surrounded with security guards 24/7.
Coffee Shop
When visiting your friends and family you can visit the coffee shop for a premium specialty coffee born in the heart of Namibia.
Pause Areas
We strive to provide you with a family-focused hospital experience that gives you the care you need. Our modern and safe pause areas are conveniently located so that you can breakaway and spend time with loved ones or wait in comfort.
General Visiting Hours
Visitors are limited to 2 visitors per patient at a time.
Time: 15h00 – 16h00
Time: 19h00 – 20h00
The visiting hours of the isolation unit is restricted due to clinical reasons.
Above information is subject to change on Management discretion.
Maternity Ward Visiting Hours
Dad/Partner: All day until 21h00
Baby’s Brother/s and Sister/s: 11h00-12h00 and 15h00-15h30
Grandparent/s: 11h00-12h00 and 15h00-15h30
Family and Friends: 15h00-16h00 and 19h15-20h00
Paediatric Ward / ICU Visiting Hours
One Parent: All day
Family and Friends: 15h00 – 16h00 and 19h15 – 20h00
Only two visitors per patient at a time are allowed (this includes the parent).
No children under the age of 12 years are allowed in the unit.
